64' Chevy Chevelle

Here's the documentaion of my project Chevelle. After completing my 71 Chevelle, and driving it for a couple of years, I got the itch to do another car. After selling the 71 I had the money to start a new project. I knew I wanted to do a "Prostreet" style car. A lot of people think it's a dated concept, but that's what is great about building hot rods. Everybody has there own ideas and concepts. I found this car on the internet. It was in Arkansas. It had spent quite a few years as a drag car. Being a southern car, the body was fairly solid. But it did need some work. But all the basics were there. Big block, back halved, and in need of a complete resto. So after purchasing and having it shipped here, the fun began!!!

First and foremost I have to thank my family for understanding the time and money that has gone into this project ! And to my friends who have helped out, and made this car into what it is!!!!!!!!! Oh and also to the beer manufactures for there products that were a vital part of all aspects of this project.

Here are a couple of pictures of the car when it was for sale.  I didn't take too many pics before I tore it apart

Here are a couple of pics of the disassembly. After stripping the front clip off, the drivetrain came out. Then got the body ready to be lifted up.Being a race car the interior had one fiberglass seat and roll cage. These were taken out to be able to lift the body. Myself and a buddy were able to lift the body up with a couple of 4x4's and two floor jacks.

Here's the cassis out from under the car. You can see the attachment points from the old roll cage. The rear suspension set up is a S&W race car's clip. The front is stock except for the disc brake upgrade.
